Number of Pinball Manufacturers in Business Each Year
Another reflection on the health of an industry during its boom and bust years.
This graph shows the number of manufacturers who released a pinball machine in each year from 1880 on. Several other resources refer to the invention of the pinball machine in 1931 or 1932. While we do not believe that to be correct, it is clear that the pinball machine first obtained substainable mass-market transaction right after the depression.
