These are labeled on pins, M, R, U, 12 and 20. Remember, that when hooking up the controller, you are hooking up two potentiometers that act like voltage dividers. You need to hook up +5 and ground to each pot, and the signal wire goes to the middle tab. If after it's all hooked up, a direction needs to be reversed, simply swap the +5 and ground wires on that pot that needs to be reversed. The trigger input may be shared with both trigger buttons. To start the game, TRIGGER must be grounded. The Left and Right Thumb buttons are not used to start the game. Use self test to set game options. In this pinout, vertical now means the direction forward and backward, while horizontal means the direction left and right. A 5K pot is used for each of the vertical and horizontal inputs, just like Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.
