System Updates

We continuously address small bug fixes as well as regularly work to improve the responsiveness of our pages through programming rewrites and data caching. Additionally, here are some of the more significant site improvements we have worked on recently:

Date Description
February 02, 2024 The Members stats page was rebuilt (it had existed in the older site), under Members/VAPS -> Statistics -> VAPS Member Stats
February 02, 2024 The Arcade Map section now has a 'Recent Additions' tab to show a report of locations newly added to the database. It’s fun to explore new locations, and important to identify locations that were improperly added.
January 25, 2024 The ability to add locations to the Arcade Map has been opened up to Members (previously just admins & moderators).
January 23, 2024 Improvements to our book directory sections (used in the FotoFinder system showing what books talk about what games) were released. See: www.arcade-museum.com/books
January 16, 2024 After two and a half years of solid work, a new version of the main web site has launched, replacing a barely working 20-25 year old code base with a site utilizing object oriented programming, cleaned up data, and more. Additionally, it launches with new features including the Arcade Map that highlights arcade game locations globally, a ROM identifier (by CRC or by image upload), and more.
January 14, 2024 Improvements to the eLibrary content injection system and to the search engine were released.
January 23, 2023 The Arcade Map continues to be improved and we just added the ability for members to rate locations, and the ability to see the 'Most Travelled' members… that is the list of members that have been to the most number of locations on the Arcade Map.
May 21, 2021 Improvements were made to the user contribution functions for game records, game images (including editing of images), manufacturer entries, manuals, Arcade Map locations, and events.
