Description

The player pilots a ship whose mission is to liberate eight cities which have been conquered by evil aliens. Fight off three attack waves of defending enemy ships and moboids and fire through rotating rings at the alien to gain ships.

Zektor was produced by Sega in 1982.

Game Play

Fight off three waves of ships then reach the city to attempt to shoot the alien for a bonus ship. The eighth wave repeats indefinitely once you beat it.

There are hidden letters in each city that you reach. I'm not sure of the significance of these letter (designers initials? Secret code?). The last alien is the alien from Space Fury.

Technical

The game's sound board is the same as Eliminator except for some differences in resistor values. It also requires the AY-3-8912 chip socket to be populated whereas Eliminator does not.

Fixes

As with all of Sega's vector games, the Electrohome color vector monitor used for this game has a notorious tendency to catch fire. It is unknown what to do to prevent this.
