During the demo, there are screens that explain that the full title of the game is The Three Stooges In 'Brides Is Brides' but on the marquee, side decals and control panel it only says The Three Stooges.
The object of the game is to help the Stooges find and rescue their three fiancees: Cora, Nora, and Dora who have been kidnapped by a mad scientist.
You must have Curly, Larry and Moe get past several levels until they make it to the mad scientist's laboratory where they will find one of their fiancees. Then, they will have to start all over again until they eventually find their other two respective fiancees.
Use the joystick to move the stooge you control around the screen. Pick up pies, hammers and loot by walking over these items. Press the fire button to drop a hammer, throw pies and slap enemies. Use a hammer to knock out enemies and destroy furniture. Pick up keys and loot hidden behind furniture. Collect all the keys and leave through the exit doorway to proceed to the next level.
You will be stunned if you are hit with a pie or slapped by another stooge. Avoid the cops and hammer-wielding enemies or you will be knocked out. Occasionally, there will be a level where there will be three singers who you will attempt to silence by throwing pies at them while avoiding the deadly musical notes that they sing. On each level, players can play either cooperatively or independently.
