Q*bert jumps around on a pyramid of cubes changing a color he lands on. Coily starts in the game first as a big purple ball, and eventually hatches into a spring-like snake. Jump on one of the flying discs to make Coily jump off the pyramid, or shoot him down with your balls of slime. Other enemies appear in other stages: Ugg (the pig-like creature) and Wrong-way (the creature with sharp teeth that moves upside down). The friendly green creatures are: Slick (the one with the black sunglasses), and Sam (the one with the big white bulging eyes) they are not a threat to Q*bert, but they change the color of the cubes to normal that they land on.
The gameplay is exactly the same as Q*bert with the addition of a feature where Q*bert shoots balls of slime out of his nose.
