This game is basically a Defender clone, but it is actually superior to the original. The game play is exactly the same but the graphics are a lot sharper and more colorful. The planet, the ship, and the aliens are more detailed. You can actually see the humanoids on the planet walking up and down. The Pods have four distinct colors and you can clearly see the shape of the Swarmers.

Just like Defender, there is one joystick and five control buttons. Although they are laid out in the same patern, they are set a lot closer to each other making the game easier to control and play. The Hyperspace button is also at the center of all the controls, but it is a lot smaller than the other buttons, about a half inch in diameter. As a result, you instinctively use it from very sporadically to not at all, forcing you to become a better player faster.
