You play as one of three characters, each with his or her own unique Valkyrie fighter:
Like the first Macross game, Super Spacefortress Macross, this game plays much the same as Raiden. Your Valkyrie transforms into three modes (fighter, gerwalk, and battroid) by grabbing power-ups labled F, G, and B. Each mode has its own set of weapons. Each character also has his or her own unique set of weapons for each mode. Micro Missiles can be fired by holding down the fire button for a few seconds. The longer the button is held, the more missiles will be fired.

Winning the game two times in a row will give you a different ending the second time around.
This game has an incredible CG FMV opening that plays in attract mode. Also, each character has his or her own ending.
Available only as a conversion kit (which was never released in America). Two full-color instruction sheets were the only artwork included with the kit.
