Equipped with a suit of armor, sword, and shield, you must battle through the castle in this side-scroller. Strike or block the different objects coming at you. Fight various opponents, breaking off pieces of their armor, while defeating them. Collect new swords and shields along the way, and hit the magic crystal balls to repair your armor.

This is a bootleg or prototype of Taito's Gladiator. There are no discernable differences in gameplay, except for a nudity graphic feature (see trivia). Golden Castle has a unique title screen also.

This game has a nudity feature not present in Gladiator. The female warrior Irene is shown with bare breasts when defeated by removing all layers of her chest armor (in Gladiator she still wears a bikini top when defeated this way). This feature is also present in the Japanese boardset Oogonsiro.
