The game's amazing dirt and water splashes actually affect the graphic maps on the cars during the race. Driving into mud pits or hitting water pools either muddies up the vehicle or cleans it, respectively.
Try to find alternate shortcuts over rocks and grass. Avoid mud and water pools as they slow you down.

There is a timereleased track and vehicle. Unfortunately your vehicle slows down a bit when you are in first position, but speeds up when you are among the last.
The game is housed in a cabinet using Segas standard steel construction. The seat position is adjustable.
As with other Sega Model3 games, this one uses a Model3 2.0 which is the same as 2.1. Replacing the ROM board and BIOS chip is possible.

The game options are set in a menu system after the Test button has been pressed. The game uses a 500W100VAC servo motor to provide force feedback steering.PA woofer under the seat mixes the lower frequencies of channel 1 and 2. The Model3 architecture really has four channels, but in IDirt DevilI, channels 3 and 4 have the same music as in channel 1 and channel 2 and are active only in the selection mode.
