Description

A conversion system developed by Data East that allowed arcade owners to change the game by simply swapping a small security pod and a cassette tape containing the program data. A test tape was also included with each system.

DECO Cassette System was produced by Data East in 1981.

Data East released 178 machines in our database under this trade name, starting in 1979. Data East was based in Japan.

Cabinet Information

There were at least two different upright cabinet styles manufactured for this system. The first kind can be viewed in the Mission X entry. The second is displayed in the Bump 'n' Jump (DECO) entry. Each game had its own unique marquee. The bezel and control panel overlay were a generic four-color design and they were not changed between games. The system was also released in a cocktail version cabinet.
