And they're off! Cheer Man-O-War or Plucky Girl as they gallop down the gleaming track in 20 seconds. The odds change after the horses leave the gate, and a numbered flag pops up at the end of the track to tell the winner. Two to thirty nickels drop into the hidden payout cup in the cabinet side. An electric motor powers a pneumatic system using a perforated paper roll to control the bellows. When Pace Mfg. Co. introduced this first successful electric console in 1934; it soon became the biggest moneymaking machine of its day.
