Swingalong With Big Al (Disneyland Bear Country)
Description
Swingalong with Big Al was designed by Sam McKim for Disneyland's Bear Country Arcade in the mid-1970s when Imagineers had free time after the completion and grand opening of Walt Disney World in Orlando in 1971. These game projects typically started with regular commercial games, which were rethemed with custom cabinets, custom play fields, custom art, and custom circuit boards (strengthened with industrial quality relays for heavy usage). Each game was unique. Swingalong with Big Al has survived and currently resides in the collection of the Museum of the Game. A spare Big Al golf figure from the playfield is known to exist, and after being in the hands of a well known Disney collector very many years, was recently re-sold.
