Control your car by steering the wheel from a 3rd person, behind the car perspective. Two pedals control braking and acceleration and one stick shift to the right of the wheel controls the "Low High" transmission. The view as you race along is quite low by some racing game comparisons. This makes the action and racing seem more intense as you feel like you are much lower to the game than other games of the time. However, at some points during the level the view is very limited of the track as the car rests perfectly in your camera view. Graphics are very good for the time, giving you a wonderful array of full colors and textures as well as neat animations of the car flipping violently if you hit the walls to hard. A second player can join in the same race as long as the communication link is in place between the two PCBs.

The standard two-seater cab has a large 69" long Marquee reading Jaleco Grand Prix Star. Two 25" standard resolution monitors rest inside the cabinet. The unit can be separated at its floor to make moving the two halves seat box and monitor box much easier. The floor itself on this unit has a rubber mat which is made to look like diamond deck plating.
The game's title screen says "Grand Prix Star" but the marquee says "F1 Grand Prix Star II".

Rarity and Popularity independently are not necessarily indications of value. [More Information]
The player one and player two car colors can be changed in dip settings to either red or blue.During the attract intro screens, watch closely as the monitors share the same timed image of a F1 car scrolling along from screen to screen in a simulated speed run. This is a really attractive thing to see when both monitors are adjusted just right.
