There are three different player characters and each of them uses a different kind of magic: Ax Battler, the barbarian uses earth magic Tyris Flare, the amazon uses fire magic and Gilius Thunderhead, the viking dwarf uses lightning magic. Each player character also each has a different weapon: Ax Battler and Tyris Flare both use swords and Gilius Thunderhead uses the Golden Axe.
The object of the game is to find and destroy Death Adder in order to rescue the king and princess whom he had kidnapped. Also, Death Adder killed Ax Battler's mother, Tyris Flare's mother and father and Gilius Thunderhead's brother. So, you must also help each player character avenge the deaths of their loved ones.
Each character in the game has a special move that is activated by pressing both Jump and Attack at the same time. Also, double-tapping the joystick right or left will cause the player to charge and smash into opponents.
Once the game has been beaten, the ending will show a view of an arcade where the characters "jump out" of the game, run out of the arcade and down the street.
