Description

The Mills Owl, the first mechanical upright cabinet slot machine, proved more reliable and convenient than the earlier battery-operated electric models. Unique to this upright is a bell that rings to announce a winning payout. A five-way head sits atop the beautifully carved oak cabinet, and a circle of owls is perched on the lithographed tin wheel. Because of its immense success, Mills Novelty Co. later adopted the owl motif as its trademark. 1897.
