Trivia

The ipdb incorrectly states that Road Runner used generation 3 Atari hardware. Road Runner 1 uses a prototype Gen 1.75 hardware and Road Runner 2 uses Gen 2 hardware.

Cabinet Information

There are two known prototypes.
The cabinets have similar cabinet artwork but the heads are different.
1 has a Road Runner backglass in a custom head that is not similar to either generation 1 Atari pins, or generation 2 Atari pins.
2 has a smoked plexiglass screen because the cabinet is based on a converted Superman cabinet with a smaller opening for the backglass. So the original backglass is too big for this head.

Alternate Cabinet Images

There are two style cabinets. The 1st one pictured here is the 1st version and can be seen in Las Vegas at the Pinball Hall of Fame museum.
The 2nd version is located in northern California and is a converted Superman cabinet with Road Runner artwork. The head has a custom back board and wiring for Road Runner. It uses a smoked plexiglass panel since a correct backglass for this form factor was never produced.
